HappyFox and General Data Protection Regulation

What is GDPR:

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects the rights of EU citizens and their personal data by enforcing stringent laws and obligations on companies hosting personal data of those living in European Union. It gives EU citizens more control and transparency over how their personal data is collected, stored and processed by companies. It also expands the scope of what Personal Data means and how it must be lawfully processed.

For HappyFox Helpdesk and HappyFox Chat, we have implemented all the technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal data stored in our products. We are already Privacy Shield compliant and we have always given top priority to Security and Privacy in the way we build, ship and operate our products. This law strengthens our commitment even further. We are excited to implement everything that comes under it.

What we have done:

We have updated our Terms of Service for both HappyFox Helpdesk and HappyFox Chat and our Privacy Policy reflecting our adherence to GDPR. If you have any questions on these policies, you can email us at privacy@happyfox.com.

Finding, correcting and deleting personal information:

HappyFox Helpdesk: From our Contacts page, you can quickly search for, edit or delete contact information - See more.

HappyFox Chat: Admins can update visitors’ name, email and phone number in Transcript page. Agents can update their name, email, display picture from inside their login. Admins can delete (forget) visitors or agents permanently. All PII belonging to that visitor/agent will be redacted from our servers. Plus, chat transcripts can also be deleted from within transcripts page. Learn more


Data portability:

HappyFox Helpdesk: You can export data as CSV / Excel using our Reporting module. Learn how to export contacts. Learn more about our reports here. Alternatively you can export all Tickets / Contacts as XML / JSON via our API - See our API documentation.

HappyFox Chat: You can now export one or more transcripts belonging to any visitor from within Transcripts page.

User Consent:

HappyFox Helpdesk: You can explicitly ask for consent whenever you collect personally identifiable data using our Consent fields - Learn how to add consent fields here.

HappyFox Chat: New “Consent” field can now be added by Admins in Pre-chat form and Offline form to collect consent from visitors before chat. Learn more
