HappyFox and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

HappyFox and General Data Protection Regulation

What is GDPR:

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects the rights of EU citizens and their personal data by enforcing stringent laws and obligations on companies hosting personal data of those living in European Union. It gives EU citizens more control and transparency over how their personal data is collected, stored and processed by companies. It also expands the scope of what Personal Data means and how it must be lawfully processed.

What does it mean for HappyFox:

We, at HappyFox Inc., and our products will oblige to the new Law and implement all technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal data stored in our products. We are already Privacy Shield compliant and we have always given top priority to Security and Privacy in the way we build, ship and operate our products. This law strengthens our commitment even further. We are excited to implement everything that comes under it.

What we have done so far:

We are in touch with legal and technical experts in the industry to assess all our organisational and technical practices thoroughly to cover the new requirements. We think we have made significant progress in the last few months in getting close to becoming GDPR compliant.

What does it mean for our customers:

We are happy to inform that we will be implementing everything stated in GDPR, not just for EU customers but for ALL our users who live outside EU. We think every one of our users should experience the same control EU citizens will have by this law. This means more transparency for ALL users about how HappyFox Inc., stores and processes their data in our products.

In the coming days, we will be rolling out changes to our legal terms and privacy policy to reflect GDPR requirements. We will be implementing product level changes, those which will enhance the control you have over the data stored in HappyFox Inc products. We will also be shipping new tools and implementing new internal procedures in supporting our customers in becoming GDPR compliant. Stay tuned!
